Can I attend more than two sessions per week?

Absolutely yes. If you’re attending more than two sessions per week, it’s crucial to incorporate additional health practices into your routine. Prioritize getting a full 8 hours of sleep each night. Consider adding supplements to support your fitness journey (Colleen can provide guidance). Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to nourish and replenish your muscles. Additionally, ensure you’re consuming enough green leafy vegetables and fibre to nourish your gut flora and maintain a strong immune system.

Each week, Colleen meticulously crafts two distinct sessions. Her process begins with selecting the perfect music, setting the tone for the entire session. What age groups are most popular at Isoflex?

At Isoflex, our clientele spans a wide age range, typically between 40 and 85 years old. Over my 25 years of experience, I’ve found that age is never a barrier to success at Isoflex. Our workouts are designed to accommodate individuals of all ages and fitness levels, ensuring that everyone can build strength and flexibility. We offer alternatives and improvisations for exercises, and since Isoflex incorporates isometric strengthening, there are always options available to suit your needs.

Can I do Isoflex if I am pregnant?

Absolutely, Isoflex is not only safe but also highly beneficial for women who are planning to become pregnant or are already pregnant and may feel unfit. In my own experience, I continued to engage in 12 hours of Isoflex per week throughout my pregnancies in South Africa, teaching classes right up until the very day I gave birth to both of my children. It was a testament to the effectiveness and adaptability of the program.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of training numerous pregnant women who shared the aspiration of being strong and prepared for motherhood. It’s an honour to support them on their journey. Motherhood is physically demanding, requiring hours of holding, bathing, nursing, and lifting your precious baby every day. Being physically strong and capable enhances the joy of motherhood and helps you navigate these tasks with ease and enjoyment.

It’s worth noting that during pregnancy, the hormone relaxin softens the body’s ligaments, which can increase the risk of injury. This is why having strong and healthy muscles is crucial, especially since relaxin remains in the body for up to 12 months after giving birth. Isoflex focuses on building strength and flexibility, making it an ideal fitness choice to support you during and after pregnancy, ensuring you’re equipped to embrace motherhood with confidence and vitality.

Fuelled by her passion for empowering others, she laid the foundation of Isoflex in her father’s garage during her final year of studies. What started as a mere trial soon blossomed into a lifelong dedication, as people embraced her innovative approach to fitness with enthusiasm and commitment.

Over the course of two decades, Colleen cultivated Isoflex into a thriving enterprise, establishing her own studio and disseminating her expertise through instructional DVDs and franchising opportunities. Drawing from a diverse array of disciplines including Pilates, Yoga, Karate, Modern Ballet, and more, she meticulously crafted workouts that seamlessly integrated the most effective elements of each practice into a concise 60-minute session.
